Action:

1) Remove the CD audio device driver:

a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
c) Double-click the 'Multimedia' icon. (The 'Multimedia Properties' dialog box appears.)
d) Click the 'Advanced' tab. (The 'Advanced' tabbed page appears.)
e) Double-click on 'Media Control Devices'. (The branch expands showing all devices.)

2) Reinstall the CD audio device driver:

a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
c) Double-click the 'Add New Hardware' icon. (The 'Add New Hardware' Wizard appears.)
d) Click 'Next'.
e) Select the 'No' radio button and click 'Next'.
f) Select 'Sound, video and game controllers' in the 'Hardware types' list box.

h) Select 'Microsoft MCI' from the 'Manufacturers' list box.
i) Select 'CD Audio Device Driver (Media Control)' from the 'Models' list box.

k) Click 'Finish'.
l) When prompted, reinsert the CD into the CD-ROM drive and click 'OK'.
m) When prompted to restart the computer, click 'Yes'.
